It's amazing that you can grow up in a city your whole life but still discover new things about it everyday.
For instance, last night I went to a bachelorette party and we went to Rockbottom Brewery for dinner, then to Sugah for dessert. Now, get this: we had our own private ice cream party. It was incredible! P.S. apologies for the photo quality...it was nighttime and ice cream was the primary thing on my mind ;)
We got to step behind the counter and had the option of taking the paddles into our own hands to create our own ice cream.
I definitely went that route!
So many options...so little time...
In the end I decided to mix in chocolate chip cookie dough (is there anything better on the planet?) and rum cake.
It was a match made in ice cream heaven.
Afterwards we played "guess the secret incredient in the chocolate", some of which included sea salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, fenugreek, cayenne, cardamom & ginger!
And what's a bachelorette party without toilet-papering the bride? :P.
The bow was stunning. I think I'm going to go the toilet-paper route for my own wedding day.
I had so much with these ladies last night and am having an awesome time celebrating this next stage in life for Anne. Happy Bachelorette!
What are your favourite ice cream add-ins?
I highly enjoy peanut butter ice cream with peanut butter cups mixed in, which can be enjoyed at Marble Slab Creamery (Halifax now has one in Clayton Park!!). Also a decadent match is amaretto ice cream with cherries mixed in. Or cheesecake AND amaretto ice creams mixed together with cherries. I also really like getting my own ice cream and mixing crushed chocolate bars of many varieties in. Can you tell I've thought about this? :)
ReplyDeleteHaha...there is no shame in giving lots of thought into what makes the perfect ice cream! Cheesecake ice cream sounds incredible...are you talking black raspberry cheesecake or is this an ice cream with actual cheesecake bits in it?? Because that would be heaven in an ice cream cone!
