Friday's Sundaes!

The weather in Halifax never ceases to amaze me...yesterday I was searching for my mittens on the way to school and today I basked in the sun in a tank top while reading neuroanatomy!

Well,  I didn't think Thursday's pumpkin spice latte could get better but I was wrong! I made a few modifications, inspired by Love Veggies And Yoga and it turned into a heavenly beverage!

Topped with frothed milk and cinnamon!
This time I mixed the following in the blender:

  • 1 cup soy milk
  • 1/4 heaping cup of pumpkin puree
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 pinch ginger
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
Once mixed I heated the mixture in the microwave and added it in a mug with an equal portion of coffee. It's the closest thing I've had to a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte!

Later in the evening, I joined two friends at Middle Spoon Desserterie & Bar to try out the talk of the town!

Giant spoon...love it!
It probably would have taken me an indefinite amount of time to select a dessert but thankfully a classmate had recommended one earlier during our neuro lab. Though once presented with the menu I still poured over it for a good 10 minutes...everything sounded so good!

So many options...so little time!
I took my classmate's advice and went for the Cake Bite Sundae. Description?

Moist chocolate cake crumbled then mixed with butter cream frosting rolled into balls and dipped in milk chocolate. Nestled in vanilla ice cream and topped with hot fudge and whip cream.

*drool*

When dessert arrived I was not disappointed. It actually blew my mind away! Normally I'm not a huge sundae fan but the mixture of flavours and textures were perfect.  I may need to learn to make this myself or else I'll be a weekly regular ;).

Hope you are having a lovely Saturday!

  1. we were going to order this one......sadly - they cannot guarantee that any of their desserts have not come into contact with nuts - so mike and I could only drink here....their cocktails are quite good, but slightly over priced.

  3. Aww...that's too bad Les! Once I master my copycat version of this dessert I'll have to have you and Mike over :).

And Britt, you'll have to let me know how the latte turns out for you! I'm excited for you to try it!
